Hydro isolation – necessary work on buildings

Hydro isolation is an important step in the process of construction, renovation, and reconstruction of buildings. It protects the building from moisture and ensures a longer lifespan of the structure. It is crucial that the process is carried out professionally, using appropriate insulation materials.

The term Hydro isolation refers to one of the possible measures of protection from water that protects the structure and interior spaces from water penetration or moisture. The selection of appropriate materials and their proper installation are crucial factors that affect the quality and durability of the structure’s protection. Hydro isolation materials must meet numerous quality criteria. These materials are not structural or load-bearing, but they are responsible for the usability and condition of the structure.

There is a wide range of materials available on the market for Hydro isolation . However, bituminous and polymer-bituminous materials are still the most prevalent materials for Hydro isolation when constructing new buildings, while cement and polymer-cement compositions are chosen for repairing Hydro isolation from moisture and water from the ground.

If it is necessary to perform Hydro isolation on buried parts of buildings, bituminous and polymer-bituminous tapes, as well as synthetic, plastic, and elastomeric compositions, are used. In addition to these materials, self-adhesive bituminous tapes and bentonite membranes are widely used.

Among the residential buildings we maintain, some of them needed to have their roofs waterproofed, which have passed the test of heavy rainfall in Podgorica. Below are photos from the site of the works being carried out.
