ANNI Engineering: Transforming the Great Hall at the Montenegrin National Theatre

Dear art enthusiasts,

We are proud to present the story of another successful project executed by ANNI Engineering. Our team had the honor of working on the transformation of the floor coverings for the Montenegrin National Theatre, one of the most significant cultural landmarks in Montenegro.

The Montenegrin National Theatre, situated in the heart of Podgorica, stands as a cultural and artistic hub for the city of Podgorica as well as the entire country of Montenegro. Throughout its history, this theatre has been a place where art and creativity have flourished. However, as we all know, time and the thousands of visitors who have enjoyed its performances over the years can lead to wear and tear, including damage to the floor covering.

Our team was tasked with the restoration and transformation of the stage area in the Montenegrin National Theatre through the replacement of the floor covering. The work was executed with care and dedication to ensure that the theatre would remain a place of artistic brilliance and inspiration.

For this project, we performed the following tasks:

  • Seat Removal (372 pieces): The first step in our project was the careful removal of seats that were fastened to the floor. Each seat was numbered, making the removal process more manageable. After removal, the seats were stored carefully in a clean and dry location to prevent damage until reinstallation.

  • Deep Cleaning: Following the seat removal, we carried out a deep cleaning of the seats and armrests. Seats that withstood the test of time were refreshed and prepared for new visitors.

  • Removal of Existing Carpeting (410 m2): The existing carpet was a vital part of the old floor, and its removal required special attention. The carpet was carefully removed, and the subfloor was thoroughly cleaned of adhesive and debris. All materials were properly disposed of in a landfill.

  • Cement Screed Installation (123 m2): To prevent potential damage, we installed a cement screed on 30% of the total developed area.

  • Procurement and Installation of New Carpeting (410 m2): Our team selected and procured carpeting that matched the architectural design of the hall. The carpet was Class 33, suitable for public spaces, made from non-combustible materials, and certified with BFL-S1 fire resistance. The installation covered all areas, including treatments around ventilation outlets, connection panels, stair fronts, and theater platforms.

  • Reinstallation of Removed Seats (372 pieces): After completing the preparatory work, the seats were reinstalled in their original positions. All actions were carefully documented to ensure that each seat was returned to its proper location.

  • Procurement and Transportation of Laminate Flooring (150 m2): An additional aspect of the project involved procuring, transporting, and installing laminate flooring. The laminate was carefully placed on a prepared subfloor, with decorative moldings according to the client’s preferences.

As a result of our dedication and expertise, the Montenegrin National Theatre now boasts a completely renovated floor space, ready to welcome new visitors and art enthusiasts. ANNI Engineering takes pride in contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage and supporting the arts in Montenegro.
